The State of the Chinese Taipei Football Association and the Regulations of International Football Events
Chinese Taipei Football Association (CTFA) is the sole member of Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Asian Football Confederation (AFC), East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) in the Chinese Taipei. FIFA supervises and controls all football activity around the world, including Association Football, Futsal, and Beach Soccer, etc.
According to the regulations stipulated by FIFA, CTFA is authorised to designate national teams to participate in any international football events and competitions organised by any organisations as stated in the first paragraph (including every each age group of Association Football, Futsal, and Beach Soccer events and competitions). Therefore, the organisations stated above can only accept entries from their member associations, that is to say, only teams and players designated by CTFA are allowed to participate in events organised by those organisations.
According to the regulations of FIFA, the host organisers shall request approval from the member association on whose territory the event is held when hosting any competitions with participating teams affiliated to other Members. In other words, the host organisers of any form of competitions have the obligations to apply to CTFA and notify CTFA of the competition details if there are any teams/clubs from other Members participating. Under the same circumstances, any teams/clubs in the Chinese Taipei shall require approval from CTFA to participate any form of competition abroad. The secretariat of CTFA will send notifications to FIFA, AFC and related member associations in the proper administrative procedure in order to able to manage, assist and supervise the competitions. Hosts that violate the regulations may be subject to disciplinary measures.
